I got my Silkie eggs!!! This waiting 21 days is going to kill me, lol! So excited!

There can be. Have you moved your guaranteed accurate thermometer around?
Prior to putting eggs in, yes, but not since I locked these eggs down. But there is one in the corner right there, and another in the opposite corner that read the same most of the time, they occasionally have a .5 degree difference. They were only in this 'bator for 3 days. Prior to lockdown they were in my Brinsea that I'm pretty sure had low temps the first 10 days.

When I pulled out the previous hatch -- 15 shipped eggs (1 breed), 11 made it to lockdown and only 5 hatched on days 21, 22 and 23. At that point, I bumped up the temp in the Brinsea by .8 degrees. These chicks are the first to come out after I adjusted temps. they had only 6 days at this higher temp before being moved over.

All the eggs along that edge are BCM's. DARK shells. I had a hard time candling them - it's possible they're duds. I'll know more once I finish this hatch and break open the left overs. We're only on day 21, so I'll give them a couple more days.

We are currently at 29 hatched, and several more pipped. Go chickies go!!!!

I wanted to show off the only chick that hatched at Easter (the rest was quail). She is half Sapphire and half Bantam Silver Penciled Wyandotte. She has the rose comb. I know that the comb is real pink for 6 weeks but her feathers said female one the second day and the vent sexing (third week) looked more female than male. Right now she only has a baby name of Cheep. The little A&M quail she has grown up with is named Peep. Peep was kept to be the replacement of the aging partner of Albus an English white quail. Still not sure that Peep is female but since his partner died last week Peep will at least keep him from being lonely. After a day of hearing Albus call for his dead mate I put him in with Cheep and Peep and he has ceased to cry for her. They seem to be getting along fine.

Cheep here is all white with just one grey feather on her tail.

I'm sorry!!! Do you hear any chirping?  My last hatch I had most hatch on day 22 and day 23.  Don't give up!

Can't hear over the racket the singleton is making... I really hope more hatch, I have a friend waiting very anxiously for these. That and I don't wanna raise a lone chick! :fl

are these eggs of yours or shipped?
Hello everybody.

Local eggs, they took a 30 min ride in the car but that wouldn't effect anything..... 8\12 were infertile. :rant

All 5 of my eggs were fertile that I stuck in too, so it isn't the same issue I had with batch #1!
