My new project, a fence that divide my back yard so the chicken's will have their own run, so dear wife will gave clean garden and l will more chickens!

I was out of the bedroom, and heard Sturgis in insane pain. I went to see the problem, but couldn't find one. So I put him on the floor. He cried again. This time holding his paw up. So, I carried him around and checked him out. Other than long nails (possibly the issue) I did not see anything wrong. He's on the floor now, and quiet... And now he's in another room. Silly pup.

Longer nails shouldn't cause that much pain, unless they're ridiculously long; they'll make him walk on his 'heels', though. Did you check his pads & between his toes for anything that shouldn't be there, like a thorn?

They were embedded in his pads a year ago, and he was walking on his heels. I spent a while battling the damage done. I got lazy about three months ago. I thought that he could wear them the rest of the way down naturally. Apparently that hasn't been happening. They are kinda crazy long. I should have brought him to the vet last year to have them done under anesthesia. He would have been on pain meds afterwards, but I didn't want him to have to go through that.
Only have myself to blame now. BTW, he was with the DH when they got too long last year. Not me.
