I have 25 eggs set one dozen production red and one dozen white leghorns I also have one from my Americana hen who is bread with a rooster from a White Leghorn hen and a Dominic roo

Hello everyone! I hope I can still join in! I currently have 2 bators running for hatches due 11/20 and 11/22 with a total of 14 eggs set. I got a great deal on a Brinsea mini for $25 bucks and it is at full capacity with 8 shipped black copper Marans eggs and the hygrometer. I am hoping for some quality breeding stock out of this hatch to add to my existing blue copper breeding prospects. We really also wanted to hatch some from our existing mixed flock too- so I was able to talk my husband into letting me get a Hovabator on sale and each family member chose a hen we wanted a baby from. So we have 6 in there. They are all covered by our silver laced Wyandotte rooster. So there's a slw egg, 2 barred rocks eggs (Chicks should be black sex-links), 2 Easter eggers eggers, and a black sex link's egg. Should be a fun mix!

No time limit or penalties for late arrivals. Did you not see the sign at the edge of town when you came in?

Yes I did most of them are those massive ones for $700-800. It is just to big for me.

@Sally Sunshine , You use a coolerbator right? I thinking about possibly replacing my LG incubator with a CB at some point.

@ambe0487 , I start chirping and whistling to the eggs around day 18. It's very stimulating to them.

@JandTRanch Welcome! You're going to get some good looking chicks out of those crosses. I've hatched some EE X Wyandottes bofore, and the chicks are beautiful! That's probably one of my favorite crosses. Good luck with your hatch!

Talk to them, sing to them!  Whistle at them!  They definitely respond.  Play the "chick chirping" videos over the incubator.  Its all stimulating. 

Oh my goodness, I've been doing this over the last week and thought I was crazy. Well, maybe I still am but not just for this reason! Okay so lets take this one step further. For those whom do talk to their eggs, do you see a correlation to them recognizing your voice once they hatch?

That is seriously NOT cool! It would scare me to know someone was only property and messing with my chickens!! Sally beat me to it, I was going to say night cam. I'm happy to hear about the alarm system. You never know what they could do next! Where did you get the AC eggs from?
I have that incubator. Are both wells in the middle filled? Personally, I would not transport the eggs. I did that on day 18 with shipped eggs and not a good outcome. (Just my experience). Let me know about the wells. I would definitely top off before you leave for the weekend.

Yes, they are.

I think I'll just leave them. I am sure the outcome will be better if they are left alone. I am excited to hear if there is pips Monday. The storm seems to have cleared up so that's good.
