I have 4 babies. Took a look at my non pipped egg. Baby still moving, but the one side has that, not so good look. Hard to explain, but those that have hatched a while know what I mean. There is a red line forming is best that I can say. Not good. Think it's time to take another peek and see how it is..I looked early early this morning.

Home from work, gotta get hay for the horses later but I will at least be around a little....tomorrow I'll be gone all day

Humidity is 73%, temp at 99 (Im going to lower to 98) eggs are on their side out of the turner. ...sally! QuestiOn!-I don't know which side is probable pip side, as I didn't candle since day 7. So just lay on their side and chickens will turn the eggs for hatch side up??

Lower your humidity.

If you didn't mark your eggs with pencil to see where the air cell is, then just lay them. If you are only on day 18, you can still mark them, then put them on the lowest marked side..up.

I don't the.breeder new what he was doin.and goats milk

I did not know you were supposed to lower temp at lockdown!!

how did I miss this?!? Lucky our first hatch went so well, because I did not alter temp at all!
its not necessary at all, they just are supposed to hatch better at those temps.

your fine not setting them probable pip up, dont worry. you need to worry about the new job more.... they will get out on their own... marking them was so you could watch them pip!

a lot of breeders sell goats and pigs at this age, as long as the buyers are able to care for the youngins and supply their needs with goats milk etc. I dont know much about it, but I think it gives really good pets as well. you would have to really get into those breeding them to understand all that. I had to raise pups on goats milk, it was tough at first, unlike these bigger critters!

I got all my goats when they were about 10 days old. I raised them as bottle babies and they are the best pets ever. Way better behaved than my dogs!
