Ok..a favor to ask. There is a young person that is entering the NYD Hatch A Long. He just posted that he .. or she..can't tell yet, that they will be looking for eggs in a grocery store to hatch. Not sure this person knows that not all eggs are fertile in all stores. Here's the hard part though, this young person lost his/her mother last yr. 3 days after Christmas. The father died 10 yrs ago on New Years Eve. I would imagine that hatching is something that he is thinking will help bring his spirits up this Holiday Season. Sooooo, if you think you could send this young person some eggs, so look for silly4buttons on the New Years Hatch a long. Post 302. I find the link. I wrote to him asking if he thought he might want some eggs from someone here. Not sure he has the money though. If you are thinking you can do this, send a pm to him for information. See if we can help this little one out. If I had eggs, I would send some. Not sure of the age, may be in the teens from the sounds of it.

Question for the group... Although I probably know the answer already... I set my eggs at 11:30. At 1:00 3 appear to be weeping. Is there ANY hope for these and what might cause it?

Were they room temp? Is the liquid clear when you blot it with a tissue? If the eggs were cold, that could be the problem. How's the humidity in there? What's the temp?

The eggs were shipped from Arkansas on Wednesday and arrived Friday morning. I unwrapped them and set them in an egg tray on the counter in my incubating room. Room temp is 73 and 30% humidity or so (in the basement with chicks under warming lights). I put them in my new (pre warmed) Brinsea set at 100 and 35% humidity. They were in for an hour and a half. Oozing is clear. They all 3 have detached air cells as I just candled them...
