CHICKEN HAWK

KEEP the newspaper in there as you have it, just push down on it to flatten it and put layers of papertowels over it for the first week! so their little feet can get around and your good! and then after a week pull up the papertowels and you have the newspaper thereafter!

I finally found it: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...not-grow-update-hes-found-a-forever-home/0_30 This little one wouldn't grow, but they found a way to boost him (it turned out to be a male). If memory serves they supplemented him with multivitamins and extra protein, leafy greens, healthy foods and that helped.

Oh my goodness sumi! What a difference in size! She was one pretty lucky baby to have you to take care of her, and from the sounds of it, the other chickens too. Amazing how smart they are. Not enough credit given. I hear folks saying..that was one stupid chicken, yeah, stupid like a mule, and we all know that they are stubborn, not stupid.

Opening now will possibly cause huge issues with the ones that are pipped.  It looks brutal, what's going on in there, but it's perfectly normal.  Walk away if you don't want to see it.

X2 this is what they do. Plan on keeping those hatched babies in there for at least 24 hours. They are not even fluffed yet.
