How chicken friendly is your area? That's the best thing about my neck of the woods. My roosters are not the only ones heard crowing in the mornings. By far, the most, but not the only ones. My two little d'Uccle roosters compete, and those shrill little voices really carry

hubby has been trying to prepare me. My oly girl is my best friend.

Ouch...It's so hard to lose them

I like to get a puppy before the old dog gets too old to play a little. Seems to give a bit of life to the old dog and helps me transfer some love over to a new one. With any luck, the old one teaches the youngster some of their traits. Still horrible hard, but that's the only way I get through it.....

I'm the only one with chickens for at least 7 miles. But I also have things like macaws, so I can't have neighbors. I am on my OWN planet.
As far as predators....We have them all. Except bears. No bears.

I saw the owl. I have a lot of hawks. All I will say is I'm against relocation
