According to what Ron told me, the deadline was yesterday. I can still enter for the HAL, but that eliminates me from the best hatch rate... which your eggs is the prize.

I never understood the best and worst hatch contests.... always distliked them, its something so easily fudged. and has caused disputes. So many contests that could actually be cool instead of that. But whatever floats their boat.

I custom incubated for a lady one time. She got eggs from a friend of a friends cousins husbands brothers hen. **sarcastic**. She gave me 4 dozen to cook. Felt really bad for her because only hatched 4 eggs. Lots of clears, cracks, etc. Felt so bad for her I didn't charge her and gave her some day olds out of my stock that were cooked in the same cabinet.

participants will need to be setting a minimum of 6 eggs. These can be under broodies or in your incubators. Send @ronott1a pm letting him know how many you will have cooking. We'll need that info by the 3rd of Jan at the latest to be included in the contest. When the hatch is over, you'll take a pic and post it to show us how many you actually hatched. The picture must be of sufficient quality to count all the chicks. In the event of a tie, the one who hatches the most chicks wins.

I really must learn to slow down when I read. Obviously, my mind doesn't process what my eyes see as quickly as it used to. I thought it said Dec 3, and when I asked Ron about it, this was his reply: "You can join the hatch a long. The deadline is for the hatch rate contests, not the hatch a long or the other contest." Since I thought the deadline had already passed, the reply basically confirmed it... at least in my troubled mind. Now I'm trying to figure out if the hatch rate contest is part of the HAL, or a separate entity. A little clarity, please?
