Phil, all those cats are still swimming and yes, walleye can't be beat on the dinner plate. We catch a lot of them. But, a 50+ blue will rock your socks. I get a bigger satisfaction letting them go.
Bubbles, I appreciate and respect your comments. 100% of our meat comes from this farm or is wild. Honestly, we eat way more elk than beef. And we have a few hundred head of cattle I could cut out at any time. Elk is actually preferred by all in this house.
THAT'S COOL., I let all my large fish go too. When I was younger all I did was chase big fish....now it's more about catching a nice meal. I have a lot of fun chasing panfish with a ultra light....or brook trout. Don't get me wrong I still chase steelhead and such but something nice about a mess of bluegill for dinner......especially when your doing it with the grandkids.
