So? My last 3 batches never moved, didn't make a peep until all of a sudden one was out. Now PLEASE, for the love of pete, GET AWAY from your incubator and quit worrying!  And maybe by your next set of eggs, you will have gone back and READ all the posts people have been REPEATEDLY posting with tips and instructions. Especially with the thermometers and hygrometers. You shouldn't expect any to hatch if you don't have those things.
yes okay fine

My seramas have mites! I gave them some ash to dust bathe in. I am going to get dawn to wash the worst ones. I ordered Nu-stock (supposed to work really well) and am going to clean the cage later. Any other precautions I can take?

As in red mites?

I'm not quite sure how to tell the difference

Read this. Best guide out there.

Whatever you do, do NOT use sevin! It is now banned for use in poultry!
It has "lifetime withdraw" for egg consumption, which means if you treat once with sevin you are never supposed to use the eggs again.

I have used permectrin with good results for lice.
Once you have determined which kind you have I can help you.
