Hey guys! How was everyone's week? Mine was pretty eventful, which is why I wasn't on much. I got pecked in the eye by a chicken Tuesday. We thought about going to the ER but my vision was still good. It wa shuts really red and I wound up getting a bit of a black eye. The redness is almost gone now though. YAY!! I really am a crazy chicken lady!

Ouch! Glad you're feeling better! Did that chicken end up in freezer camp or was it an accident?

Hey, HoneyGirl! The week was crazy for me, but today turned out to be a pretty good day! Don't you know chickens love eyeballs? Just kidding... I'm glad it didn't do any permanent damage. Might want to keep them just a tiny bit farther from your face, just to be on the safe side... 

That's what my parents said! But she really took me by surprise. This BO hen decided for some reason to jump on my shoulder while I was holding another chicken. I thought it was the strangest thing, I set the other chicken down and didn't realize that the hen on my shoulder had turned around(she jumped on my shoulder facing away from my face.) to where her head was near my face and as I turned to push her off, instead of seeing fluffy chicken butt I got whacked in the eyeball.

I feel exactly the same way. I think it may be because most of the people whom I have met and chatted with followed the rule on the first page about being respectful. Venymae started a new thread that I checked out the other day, and there were some pretty rude comments thrown her way, made me feel kinda bad for her after my experiences on this thread.

She just took my by surprise. Usually I'm a bit more aware, after all the turkey hens have a thing for trying to eat my hair, and they've tried for my eyeballs a couple times too! The chickens usually haven't found me very interesting, except for my nail polish. Strange circumstances and a lack of awareness. She's a cute little girl and hasn't started laying yet so no freezer for her yet.

Really? There are rules? On page one? Oops... I came in around the middle of this thread. I guess I should go back and read the first page...

Not really a need for me to read them, as a former moderator I know the rules and regulations of what's allowed for most sites. I think we sometimes push the boundary just a little, but not excessively. We have fun, pick on each other a little bit, and laugh about it. I feel bad for Veny too, and it's probably best I didn't read those comments. I don't take to people being treated ugly too well. I can, on occasion, be a little vocal. I have a knack for detecting patterns in forums, and will intervene when I feel it's necessary. In fact, I had to put someone in their place when I first joined this site. This particular person came down pretty hard on me, but obviously didn't know what they were getting hold of. After I finished with my little spill and accepted their apology, we got along great. I'll have to do some digging into Veny's thread to see if I can find out what's going on. Woe be unto those I must unleash upon...

So, yeah... I really like it here, and I'm glad you do, too!
