That's why they call it fishing, not catching!

When I get skunked, I have a few other things I call it, but that's a story for another time

Glad to hear I'm in good company here! Than again everyone I've met on the forums here have been incredibly helpful.

very serious girl! awesome!

Fabulous to know. Here I was thinking trying to add an egg to her clutch in the evening while sleeping/resting.
oh no! once she starts setting they start incubating, after most of the eggs are hatched she will abandon the rest unless you keep taking her chicks, but thats not healthy for a broody either.

answering your question this morning on the fishing, I go just to sit and think, sip my coffee, listen to the world start up. Catch anything it goes back unless it's to badly injured ( hate that but it happens )
x2 I like the way you think! I love when I am at the shore and throw all the tog back I catch and everyone else gives me the stare, I just smile back and say, I dont eat fish anymore!

seriously when I grew up, we lived off of wild game and fish, now I will eat a beef steak and shrimp before I touch any fish!

I'll be sure to see if they have any chain mail gloves in stock next trip I take to the farm store.

She is very serious, but does she know, that one of her "eggs" is a golf ball? Lol
lol I have a bleach bottle with the bottom cut out I put at their head and then grab them if I want them off the nest, CCL are my mean hens, the rest get it after a time or two with the jug head

Hello!

When I'm grabbing eggs from a reluctant hen, I pull my hand inside the sleeve of my jacket, then reach into the nest, scoop the eggs up in my hand, and can make a safe and easy egg snag without getting pecked.
