Yeah, but that smarts, unless you land in a deep puddle.
Y'all ever see the video where the guy sprays himself with doe urine and gets mauled by a muley buck while his wife's running the camera? Definitely from the shallow end of the gene pool...both of them!

Never landed in a deep puddle...although I did land in the mud. Yea I've seen that one. Hopefully the buck smacked some sense into the guy......but probably not.

Not in my area. There might be one management unit over by Miss Sally that baiting is legal but don't quote me on that. Problem with baiting deer is it would be something that you'd have to do year round so that the deer know there's a good food source there. If you just throw out a bunch of bait for them don't expect to get much out of it.

We can bait here in the U.P. But feeding is not allowed. The deer here migrate in the winter. I doubt there is even a track around here anywhere. They have wintering grounds southwest of here about 40 miles. . There's massive migration trails. That's where most people late season hunt. I've sat on them and watched deer pass by all day long.
problem is it's right beside the road :he I've hunted lotsa places where you crawl down a deer trail and hope a deer isn't coming the other way because neither of you have space to turn around.

I've run into bears that way! Lucky they were as scared of me...

I've had better luck making a noise like an apple and falling out of a tree.

Greetings and good morning all.

Okay, I finally got my little chick to hatch. Sometime between 3:30 am and 8:00 am CST. However this is what I saw when I got up and checked on "him"

He seems to be dry, but has gunk on him still. Plus, I am not sure what is going on with his vent area.

That looks like an umbilical... It might dry up and fall off but he might be weak for a while...

I'm not sure I could stick around long enough to find out if the bear was more scared of me......
