Yesterday evening was day 18 for my eggs, so I candled and locked down all of the original 7. Checked 30 minutes ago, and one has already externally pipped. Looks like the party's starting earlier than expected! Now if I can just convince the little one to hold off another 18 hours...

Hello friends, I have an age old question I need an answer to. My chicks are now 4wks and 7 was respectfully. I live in Massachusetts, winter is approaching fast, already had some snow, so when should I start intergrating them outside?

@kguinness76 Long time no see!!! I agree with what everone else says, but if we end up getting extreme cold, be sure they have plenty of bedding to stay warm!!!

Oh, it takes forever to crack enough bantam eggs for a triple batch of pancakes- so I only have 3 bantam hens. Those little shells are strong, too!
I love getting the 100 gram-ers, until I think of the poor hen that laid it.

Oh, and that blue egg is NOT bantam. That is a full size egg!

Let's see... I have to finish the laundry, clean out the nursery, put down puppy pads, cover it with some old towels, move the ducks into the house, put up a wind block inside the chicken coop so I can leave the pop door open while I'm gone. Put up a heat lamp to keep their water from freezing, give the dog a bath, pack up my clothing and dog supplies, and make sure everything is unplugged around the house all before 6 o'clock tonight.

can you come wash all mine and some need a hair cut too?

I'll be staying in with my boyfriend, having a few drinks and banging some pots and pans at midnight!
