Mirajane do you have your eggs horizonal for hatch or upright?  wonder if you have a pip underside that you hear so much chirpin!  

They were upright, they are laying on their sides now.

Just heard a really loud chirp.

I have hatched chicks once before under a broody hen, but I have bought and raised day old ones too, so I have experience. I set up a box with a heat lamp and everything as a home for them the next weeks in our family room like always, and my entire family just moved it into my room. Turns out they want the smell and noise to be confined to my room only, so they can 'visit'.

They do get stinky. How long do you keep your in the brooder?

In the winter, they stay indoors till they are fully feathered, and in summer they go out after about a week because it's pretty warm or hot out.
