Well the six 7-9 week old chick I put in the small backyard tractor survived. They were huddled a bit but not bad on the hay I put in the corner instead of on the roost, but it was 22 this morning and it is colder in the little coop than being in a dog crate in the big coop heated by all the big birds body heat. I know it stays warm in there since even at the teens outside last night the water stayed thawed in the coop.

Any suggestions for eggs you accidentally left out to freeze other than the pigs?

Thank you, Benny! Happy new year!!!
Good morning. Looks like some nice babies being born! Congrats @Ur-ur-ur-urrr on the 100%!

I see some new faces on the thread, so welcome.
Good morning, fire... and happy new year!!! And thank you! I only had 7 eggs, so I had a 1-in-7 chance of getting 100%. Those are a lot better odds than you'll find in Vegas...

I don't hit 100% very often. There's always that "one". Come very close on eggs laid here. Well, unless the is hatch is big enough, then I can play the "rounder-upper" game!! LOL

working on this incubator, hope many vent holes and located where,
I am unable to help as a newbie, but I will bring your post a bit out of the mess and hope @Sally Sunshine has a good link for you. Hope it goes well and you have great hatches.

I've heard eggs make good people food...

Sorry... I couldn't resist!!! You could always scramble them and give them to the chickens. I'm sure the extra protein will come in handy while they're trying to stay warm.

I'm quite positive I missed your post with your specs or pics of what you got going on, so I'm going to ask for them again. Can you quote your post with this info and I'll help.

And welcome.

@Ur-ur-ur-urrr very funny. Did you see the vent hole question?
Thanks, daxi! I saw the question... but didn't have a logical answer. Never built one, don't know anything about the dimensions of that particular bator, or the hardware being used. I almost said "as many as necessary, and all over it"... but I was a good boy and resisted. Talk about self-control... it took everything I had not to do it... but I didn't. Think I should try to help now???
