Foghorn, my white leghorn roo, is sick and looks like he's gonna die. He has had a "cold" (yes I know chickens don't get colds but we have all kinds of wild birds around here), and it got real cold last night (23), he has coop but no light. In with 14 other chickens. This morning when I fed he looked almost dead, he attacks me constantly and I was able to pick him up without any fight.

I gave him fish mox and put him in a crate inside where it's quiet and warm. I'll see if he makes it.

Any of y'all used fish mox before?

80-85 degrees would be best for him. Is he drinking? Yes, I have used fish mox. Do you want to learn how to tube feed? I can teach you.

I often think of you!!! I need an update!!!! how are you? whats keepin you so busy?

Well me and the wife split and moved to Tennessee last year. So basically had to start the farm ALL OVER!!! Building my flocks of chickens and herd of goats. So a lot of building and putting up fencing. Just now starting to get there. Will have to take a pic later of the farm. Bought a new incubator and hatcher (Sportsman). WOW, what a difference! Have a breeding pen of barred rocks going at the moment. Been hatching them the last 3 months. Get awesome results. Out of 30 eggs I either get 100% hatch or only 1 or 2 eggs won't hatch. So a great investment. Got some new breeds. Have to build my flock of them back up once they start laying. Winter is slow. Summer I'm sooo busy.

Last time I bought five for 40, free shipping. You have to watch for em tho.
You can make it at home, but I don't trust it as I don't want agrygia. (Spelling)

Whoever said whatever about the fishmox, I use it myself, but I hardly get sick anyway.
If it doesn't help after 3 days it's viral anyway, in which case colloidal silver takes care of that.
I have one bottle of colloidal silver labeled just for chickens
