rant anytime!:clap they make the spot check and it is spot on for us!  I use this to calibrate all and my children :lau

you read about the still air temps and what level you need to check it correct?    lets ask Rav on her input on these eggs shipped ok? @RavynFallen

Go ahead and rant, Moo!
I have had to recheck and recalibrate just about all of my thermos each time I use them.
I have and old, well ok, realllllly old medical thermometer that I use as my standard, hasn't failed me yet.
The new stuff seems to be produced for quantity over quality, but once you get them figured out, it does get bearable. You just have to keep in mind that they are a little 'off' and adjust for their inaccuracies.
As for the duck eggs, I agree with Sally, Ravyn is the one to ask. I let my ducks do their own, tried once in incu, failed all 12. :hit

I've never used still air for ducks, but holler after the eggs show up... if the air cells are good, you can lay them down as that is best for them, but damaged air cells need major TLC...

Tag me or PM me, I can't keep up with this thread, lol...

Thank you for the vote of confidence... :)

I have my share of failures too, it is a harsh teacher but the lessons are unforgettable ... mostly I have been lucky to have a great mentor who puts up with all my questions, lol... :D

Yep, there's lots of us that just go for the spectacle, don't make much difference if we catch or not, just one h of a fun weekend. The organizers clear a skating area, plow up a toboggan run hill, and run drag race contests for the quads and snowmobiles. They also set up a full service restaurant, fudge and toffee making, and beer gardens right on the ice. It's an event you have to attend at least once in your life if you live in the neighbourhood,

And yes, to answer an earlier comment, the river is about 600 feet out my back door. :hugs

I've read a few times that duck eggs do best with still air.
