Shrinkwrapped is when the egg dries out too much and the membrane shrinks around the embryo. It makes it very difficult for the chick to move into hatching position or zip out of the shell. If the other eggs are okay, it's possible it was an older egg and had already lost moisture before setting. Did you candle them before you set them, or notice any difference in the air cell on day 7 and 14?

have to ask is this the top of the egg . or the bottom . can't tell by the pictures at this stage you should be candling from the top . If in fact that is what I'm looking at the air cell it is not shrink wrapped. it appears to be under developed. I don't think it will make it but could be wrong . chicks like this quit at lock down . however I have been wrong many times before . so lock it down hope for the best .good luck .

I'll probably be next.
I candled the egg from the bottom. I thought it was under developed too, but I wasn't sure since this is my first time.
thought so and I believe you are right . they do that sometimes still lock it down and see what happens . keep asking questions here and post pictures every one likes pictures here also if you can post air cell pictures you will find the people here very helpful with everything hatching and well everything chicken . and the rest of the time acting foolish . and good luck with your whole hatch .
