Sad part is, I haven't fished in our ponds for years and years.

I love it. My original plan was to have the most colorful egg basket to sell but all the marans and olive eggers turned out to be roos.

My original breeders are from Greenfire Farms.

Nah, got a buddy that has crappie in one of his ponds. Can't keep them under control. There are so many of them now that they are all stunted.

I was going to suggest that you check out threads like this:

Introduce yourself there and see if there is anyone near you that would give you some eggs in exchange for you doing some work for them.

You also might want to look into joining 4H or FFA.
