Phil!!!

Howdy! No way can I catch up on the thread right now (I will work on it). I will be doing two tandem hatches, setting this week and next week - my first time (guess I don't know the meaning of moderation!!!!). I originally was just going to do some Naked Neck aloha hatching eggs (to arrive next week), but my beloved hero rooster Dumbledore from my little Cream Legbar family was attacked by several terrier dogs while protecting the rest of the chickens (such a little super hero!). He survived and will likely make a full recovery, though he has been plucked halfway to dinner and has wounds that need healing indoors. But I decided to try to set his girls' eggs earlier than planned/ASAP, just in case. So I have one incubator up and to temp (Brinsea Octagon), and the second one will be set up tonight (R-Com 20).

Should be quite an adventure!

hoping he gets back to 100% soon!

It's around room temp(ish) it's in our boot room of the house which is completely uninsulated. So by evening it should be 15*C in there. Then in one or two weeks, I'll reintroduce mom to the flock?? Sorry for all the questions, I, very new to this. Mama hen went to brood with her clutch without telling me. And I was less the. Prepared when I figured it out, hahaha. Learn as we go.
she will be fine!

You should be getting your "fix" soon... unless you've changed your mind? Tell me you haven't changed your mind...   :barnie

Love the trill... and some of the roos are starting to get little voices. It's so funny when one lets out a cluck, or clurk, or something to that effect, and all of them suddenly freeze and look around like "what the heck was that?"... even the one that made the sound!!! :lau

Sorry about the cold. I'll get to work on that right away. With just the right amount of hot air...  :lau

I'm good, but I've been banned from making more babies... I mean chicks... until I can move what's in the brooder. I'll get started back in the spring, that's for sure! I miss the hum of my bator sooooooooo bad!!!   :hit

Changed my mind!??!?
On incubating?? No sirree! I am planning to set around the beginning of march!

Anyone else have chick videos to help my addiction? As a little bandaid til spring?
