Every now and again I put my trucks in a compromising position though. This is my '09 and I missed the crossover below the pond dam. Was in a hurry chasing down a pack of coyotes. I actually backed out of this. It was a sloppy mess after lots of rain.

I killed 2 when I initially pushed them off the calf and another right before I stuck the truck. It took another couple days to get the other 3.

I kill a lot of coyotes. You can thin them down and another group will move in so its a never ending cycle. I keep a flattop heavy barrel built AR-15 with a 3x9 Leupold in the truck year around. It's always ready to rock.

Thinning them only makes them more productive is seems. We now have a neighbor that hunts them as he has horses and miscellaneous other livestock. It got to where we were not comfortable walking at dusk here. They would howl all around us. Almost like you get the one on the right and I'll get the other.

I run a lot of traps in the winter but I don't like setting on carcasses. Pick up too much "trash" that way. Usually hit trails and choke points.

There is a constant churn of coyotes here. I kill every one I see.
