You might consider doing what I did. I have one of those large green garbage cans, with the wheels & hinged lid that snaps shut. They'll hold 150 lb easily; maybe 200 lb. You could get enough of those cans to hold 20 bags ( probably 6) with no concern about coons or rodents. Before I moved the coop, I stored mine in the barn, with a rubber cargo strap securing the lid as added security against coons, and never had a problem. Obviously, you'd have a decent cash outlay for the cans, but you'd make it back with the reduced price of the feed. Just my 1.5 cents worth (inflation, you know).
In the cooler months we go through more feed. During the super hot months they don't eat as much. When we don't use the feed fast enough, it spoils.

good plan

this area isn't as rural or farm intensive as it once was

There are a few holdouts.
There's a farm about a mile or so up the road with organic grass fed sides of angus. Their pastures are so lush all the time it is amazing. They supplement their business with hayrides.
Corn mazes for the little ones are real popular here. Just another means for cash-strapped farmers to make ends meet.. It's a tough way to make a living.

It's gotten so bad that if a worker tracks mud onto the street either with vehicles or foot traffic we are subject to a fine and its substantial
Only in California!!!

I've never had a moisture problem, but mine was stored in the barn before I moved the birds, and in the feed room in the basement now. Pretty convenient.

I get a kick out of folks around here that say when things get bad they are just going to live off the land. It's so sad it's funny Where do they think their next meal is coming from if not for the farmers. It ain't
