$17.50 for 100 pound alfalfa bales here.

I'd last about one bale these days, if that, and wouldn't walk upright for a month![]()
They aren't as easy for me to move theses days either.

In the cooler months we go through more feed. During the super hot months they don't eat as much. When we don't use the feed fast enough, it spoils. You might consider doing what I did. I have one of those large green garbage cans, with the wheels & hinged lid that snaps shut. They'll hold 150 lb easily; maybe 200 lb. You could get enough of those cans to hold 20 bags ( probably 6) with no concern about coons or rodents. Before I moved the coop, I stored mine in the barn, with a rubber cargo strap securing the lid as added security against coons, and never had a problem. Obviously, you'd have a decent cash outlay for the cans, but you'd make it back with the reduced price of the feed. Just my 1.5 cents worth (inflation, you know).
Corn mazes for the little ones are real popular here. Just another means for cash-strapped farmers to make ends meet.. It's a tough way to make a living.good plan
this area isn't as rural or farm intensive as it once was
There are a few holdouts.
There's a farm about a mile or so up the road with organic grass fed sides of angus. Their pastures are so lush all the time it is amazing. They supplement their business with hayrides.
Only in California!!!Yes it is. The bill was presented about 10 years ago and has been implemented just in the last 4 years. Was misrepresented to the people as a keep the drinking water clean bill who wouldn't want that right. I'll try to get pictures of what the have to do dirt wise to build a house later this afternoon. It's gotten so bad that if a worker tracks mud onto the street either with vehicles or foot traffic we are subject to a fine and its substantial
My lord!!!! I could make a killing!!!!!
I've never had a moisture problem, but mine was stored in the barn before I moved the birds, and in the feed room in the basement now. Pretty convenient. In the cooler months we go through more feed. Only in California!!!
What in the world keeps you there? There's probably another country's name for California that's more fitting but I won't get into that. It's driving us nuts.
