I never would.
Nope! Still not. See below.
We have a winner!
Nope. I'm shaking and freaking out. My head is killing me, I might shave my head (a shame. My hair is so very long!) because it is either in the way or I can't stand the feel of having it up. My clothing has come to life, and is saying rude things (okay, that's not happening ... Yet!)
Coffee withdraw sounds funny, but this is truly not anymore. I am not saying I feel made fun of. I think all the comments are very funny. I am just saying that I don't currently feel sane.
So what you're trying to say is that at no previous point in any conversations we've ever had you've never felt like smacking me?

What everybody is telling you is to leave them alone. If they just showed up today, let them sit 24+ hours. If they are ready to set, set them. But leave them alone.

That's fine. Now just let them alone 'til this time tomorrow, then set them. If it were me, I wouldn't plug the turner in for another day. After that, don't touch them any more, unless you feel you just have to candle them on day 10,

I am not setting them till Saturday.i am waiting for ms SALLY s eggs to arrive tommorow.
OK, understood, but the rest of the advice stands. Listen to kwhites634 and Fire370. Leave them alone for now.

What sort of eggs are they - what do you hope to hatch? And what sort is Sally sending?

The kids stay off the grass on their own; they don't trust my rooster any more than I do

can't say that I blame them cause my kids don't trust my rooster either. although I have no problem with him because I know that I'm at least twice his size and can win a street fight against him.

There was no air cell though

I was in a very dark room.candle at big end but where the air cell should be its liquid jiggling.

How can you see liquid jiggling inside an egg with no air?

There is no air cell.Ok that I can't see.that's all I can say.I didn't shake all I did was turn it.that's it.after I candles them all.I set them in the cartons setting big end up.egg cartons flat to give a air Cell the chanse to come to the top and attach.

CH, I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes with shipped eggs, the air cell actually ruptures when it pulls away from the shell. The air space will fill with fluid. It will look like there is no air cell. When you candle them, just the smallest movement of looking for the air cell will make the contents of the ruptured air cell jiggle.

I don't believe ir cells can actually reattach, but we leave them sitting still so they can relax and settle and all bubbles can rise. I don't turn eggs like this at all until they have a good net work of veining. That's what will hold the air cell in place the best. Saddle cells will remain saddle cells. It is possible to hatch the saddle cells. I personally have not been able to hatch completely loose or ruptured cells.

Nothing you can see or not see in there will really help. Just let them rest until you're ready to set Sally's eggs.

No chicks currently in the house.

But my quail have stopped laying so it may be a little while before I fill the bator again.
