Set a glass of water on the counter & don't touch it.  Does the water jiggle?  Not unless you're next to a train track with a train going by.

Nothing's going to jiggle in an egg for the same reason.  That's just how things work.

Despite your insistence that you didn't shake the eggs, you had to, even if only slightly, or nothing could possibly jiggle.

I live on the train tracks...maybe that's why I jiggle..

Nope. I'm shaking and freaking out. My head is killing me, I might shave my head (a shame. My hair is so very long!) because it is either in the way or I can't stand the feel of having it up. My clothing has come to life, and is saying rude things (okay, that's not happening ... Yet!)
Coffee withdraw sounds funny, but this is truly not anymore. I am not saying I feel made fun of. I think all the comments are very funny. I am just saying that I don't currently feel sane.

Yeah, if you missed it, I have 110* on the turner in the middle. 104* to the left on the floor. And the 110 is the highest that one goes.
Turning it down, I currently have 104 on the turner and 97* on the floor.
Believe it or not, my first hatch was 4 BCM pullets out of six eggs.

Wish I could help you....never went through coffee withdrawals....but I have gone through drug withdrawals.. before yuck.

Good luck with that. Here, they can't decide if we're going to get 3-6 or 12-18 lol. We're on the ridge tops so we'll see what happens.

Let them sit for 24 hours on the counter, in an egg carton to rest. Don't even bother candling them again.

After 24 hours put them in the incubator, upright either in a turner that's not plugged in or egg carton with the bottoms of the carton cut out for air flow. Incubate them like that for 2-3 days. After that, you can either plug in your turner or just gently turn them by hand.

Wait at least a week before candling again to see if any are developing and when you candle, keep them as upright as possible, just in case the air cells are still loose.

Any that make it to lockdown, keep them upright to hatch. I've hatched quite a few shipped eggs with horrible air cells. It's possible, I promise!

Hiya, Bubbles. I have one of those (I have aquariums... go figure) and I used it for all of 1 day. It didn't read anywhere close to my other thermometers, so I wouldn't recommend it. I bought 3 Farm Innovators Model 3600 Incubation Thermometers, and all 3 showed the same temp when they arrived... and all three passed the ice test perfectly. My hatch rates have been pretty good, so I trust these 110%.

The GQF dial thermometers are very reliable and accurate. I've always recommended these to people wanting accurate thermometers.

I can only imagine it would be very difficult to hatch penguin eggs. Freezing cold on one side, and a warm belly on the other. It amazes me they hatch at all under those conditions...

@Bubbles12345 I have the same incubator you are using. I also have one with a fan and my eggs always seem to do better in the still air. Don't ask me why?? Anyway, I keep the temp at a steady 102 and I have never added anything to the canals except a couple pennies. It does seem like a good idea though. I have a batch of shipped eggs in right now that I started in the forced air and on day 3 it had a temp spike of 106 - 108

. I fired up the still air because I never seem to have issues with it (unless the power goes out

) and moved the eggs to it. I am currently on day 7 and I will candle when I get home to see if I have any life

. I keep humidity between 20 and 30%. I'll let you know the results of my candling. Good luck with your hatch, I'm looking forward to hearing your updates
