Quote: That looks like a hen saddle will cover it. Unless I missed something, I think some Blue Kote on him (and a lot on you too, because that's how it goes!) and the saddle and he is good to go.

ETA well, I see that he has other injuries. So much for the saddle!

I am so upset with myself, that I just can't stand it!
To raise the temperature in the incubator earlier, I added both plugs. It's only the first day, so not a big deal. I wanted to drop the temperature back down about 2°, but Duckling was grabbing at things, and I turned the dial instead of removing a plug. I will check it in a few hours, but I may have to just remove the eggs overnight until I can get it right again.
I am confessing to this because I don't want anyone else making a stupid mistake like I did! If you are distracted, stay the heck away from the incubator!!

Oh no... What did it go to? :hugs

Advice taken, I won't duplicate that. :/

I had this happen just over a week ago. That's my thread if you need some friends.

I just checked your thread out - our boys were attacked almost on the same day! I wish I had seen your thread when I was dealing with this - though things worked out well. I didn't do the water therapy until three days later when he had perked up (thought it would over stress him ) - if I had to do it again, I'd do the water therapy much earlier. He loved it, and it has really helped healing. I actually took Dumbledore to a good chicken vet (I was freaked out - it was worth it to ease my mind). She gave me some oral antibiotics and pain meds for him, but didn't advise putting anything else on his wounds, just leaving them open with hydrotherapy.

Glad your boy did well!

I am currently at 95( I am ignoring that. I should change the batteries. I may have accidentally put old ones in) 104 and 100*. Earlier I had gotten those two to 1-2* from each other. I keep checking it, and have removed a plug. The 105 hasn't been long enough to hurt them.

Ok. Glad you noticed it nice and early. :)
