Yep. One just took anudder chunk outa my finger today, and every time I close them up when I check for eggs all 5 of the BSL run along the edge tryin to get my eyeballs. Gotta stay atleast 2 feet away.

Not viciousness, just curiosity. Still don't make it hurt less.

Their beak comes down at the right angle, and its just like a papercut!

Oh... that makes sense. I thought they were going for your jugular!!!

Okay, the eyeballs thing totally lost me. If they're running along the edge, how are your eyeballs even remotely close to them???

A hard beak can cause a bit of pain if it hits you just right... ouchie!

Started to suggest dog nail clippers, but a rasp will work just fine on those beaks...

One of my Cream Legbars, Paula, was a solo chick for a week, until some buddies arrived. So we have a particularly pet-like bond (since she liked to watch TV with me). She loved to sit on my shoulder, which appealed to me. When she was approaching POL, she suddenly decided that my eyeballs and lips were clearly big versions of mealworms. (She also decided my fingers looked tasty.) Never got an eye injury, but got two bloody lips before I figured out that no matter how sweet she was, NO FINGERS, NO FACE TIME. I still have to remember when it comes to the occasional cuddle time - NEVER within beak-reach of the lips!!!!

This is what I did when one of my chicks hatched with a bum leg. You'll be surprised how much improvement you'll see in 24 hours if it's gonna help. I left this guy's on for 72 hours.

do I need to tie the two legs together?
