Good Morning all! So my thermostat on the Coolerbator is a piece of junk. Last night I had it reading at 100 degrees which was keeping the temp around the eggs 99.5-101.0. I was happy with that, went to bed and woke up this morning with the thermostat in the same place and reading 100 but the temp around the egg had dropped to 98.-98.7. Sooo I don't know why I thought it was doing it's job, but it is not.

oh crudbuckets!! I did a google search, seems that thermostat is best for brewing beer and stuff.

to my dad just came out my room and woke me up and we live right on the bayou side in Louisiana.well just now we had a huge Fox in our back yard.

Oh! AND I found some 60 watt brand new light bulbs and put them in there and they both worked. I thought they were blowing out but I just had some old light bulbs I had tried, right out of the package, but they only worked for a min and then went out so I thought it was the fixture. I tried again and found some new ones and they both stayed on all night and I can tell are def more powerful and raise the temp quicker.

I thought my bulbs were bad when they kept going off & on, 'til I realized they were doing exactly what they were supposed to do...they were coming on when the thermostat said the temp was below what it was set for, and going out when the temp was back where it was supposed to be.

Everything's got to be somewhere, boy; don't sweat it. You worry too much. You can always shoot it if he's going after your birds.

You may just want to order a wafer t-stat. They are $20 and proven.

Good morning! The chick is the same. I am getting with my vet on the older ones.
I was hoping to just put one of those heated pet pads in and steal the 100w bulb for my chicks from 1/21. Half are feathered and two are just missing a few neck/head feathers. Oh well two heat lamps in the house a few more days(cringe).
