No but one of his son's does just northwest of Sarcoxie. They also have some cattle on the place.neighborhoods! Does he raise chickens?
Because they're not growing, they don't need a transpiration of oxygen and carbon dioxide and wrapping them will limit moisture loss. Why is this "Actually they're better off completely cut off from ambient air."?
Or an invasion.Where I live, if we see 2 cars on the state route that our road spurs off from, we call that a traffic jam. If we see 3 or more, that's grid lock.
...
Same here.I don't like artificial nothins in my foods.
Neither does this place!

Good morning everyone. I have been up four hours and working for almost three.
@Sally Sunshine actually it is much worse today. I think chores were totrure. Driving definitely is. I will be going to OccuMed as soon as I get unloaded here and drive the hour and a half back to Joplin.
@kwhites634 . I feel sorry for the chick I match since hers does not look like it will get better.
I am sorry, I hope you didnt break anything report back when you are resting
your on target well doneOkay so ,all three of my thermometers stayed all night and all day at 100.2 to 100.8never went to high or low.and humidity was at 30%.I just scooted the lid barely back and added some water.
Quote:Well grumpy old man, I pray you some sunshine soonYou hit the nail on the head with that one.
I've traded eggs before and send mine to the other person so they can use my shippers to return them.Foam is very reusable, so it might be cost effective in some cases. Where is the best place to get foam shippers?
I was thinking of buying some to send to people I want to get eggs from, so they just put the eggs in and send it back to me.
I think they can be sterilized.yes it is, but I wont re-use it used anyways, its too porous to sterilize, remember I am CPT and a bit "anil" I learned a bit too much about disease me thinks. Its even hard for me to order hatching eggs from someone, yet alone chicks. I need the full testing credentials![]()
Chlorine, isopropanol and formaldehyde come to mind. Fumigating. They have to be clean first. You can't disinfect a turd.
My eggs are always clean when I ship them.and thank you for all of your help and knowledge![]()
please refer to cleaning section hereHey everyone![]()
I'm currently collecting eggs for a test run in preparation for the EHAL and was wondering how dirty of an egg is too dirty? I had a hen decide to lay an egg near a puddle of muddy water and of course the egg rolled in. I dabbed at it with a dry cloth. I heard water can push bacteria into the egg... So should I skip or is it ok to set?

I hope things get better and less hectic. good luck with the hatch!Good morning to all. Been a hectic few days. My 84+ year old neighbor ( who served in WWII & Korean wars) fell. Have been helping him & his wife. Missed a couple of doctorings on chicks and I can tell. Lost another toddler and most of others have stopped improving. Back on hospital duty full time again.
Candled 41 eggs....not good. Wasn't expecting much since eggs were old and new incubator. Still trying to get new incubator temp & humidity right. So maybe will have figured out by Feb 1st. Want to start a good batch with new bator and new knowledge from site.
Hoping all have a good day.
Agree on the calcium eggs are doing good your running 35%I have two questions... The first got buried yesterday in the frenzy... Here is a shot of the remaining 31 after 8 days. How do the AC look to you all? All but the 5 silkie eggs were shipped, so there are some gnarly ones in there.
I cleared about 8 from the bator last night and was so relieved to discover I was 8/8 in my diagnosing "clears"...Phew!![]()
@Sally Sunshine
The second is- I sprinkle this on my tortoises food everyday...wouldn't it be a good supplement for the layers?

please refer to cleaning section here @MimsWell crap. I thought you were supposed to wash it in water colder than the egg. Oops, but glad I found this out!

Okay thanksBecause they're not growing, they don't need a transference of oxygen and carbon dioxide and wrapping them will limit moisture loss.
Check hydrocephalus in google, basically it is a situation in the equilibrium of the CSF making and absorbing in the CNS of the bird!
Okay thanks
