Good morning @Sally Sunshine ...and friends! Two questions;
1. Are you able
To zoom in and see the AC here? It
Is Day 14. How do you think they look?
2. With so many compromised AC, I'm not planning on going over 65% at lockdown. I how do I set these bad AC eggs- AC facing up, right? Thank you!!! Shellee
Good morning, gotro! I don't know how many people are aware that the pics can be zoomed in quite easily if they're using a computer by simply right clicking and choosing Open in a new tab or new window. This opens a larger image than this site's picture viewer, and you can left click on different parts of the pic(s) to zoom in.

From what I can see, most of the air cells look like they're okay... but perhaps a little on the small size. I had a batch that looked similar, and ran between 25%-30% for a couple of days (days 14 - 16), then raised it to 30%-35% for days 17 and 18. When I candled on day 18, they looked perfect. Just a suggestion to be taken with a cup of salt... err... grain of salt.

. Lots to catch up on today.

@Ur-ur-ur-urrr Your grow out pen is looking great!

Have a great day everyone!

Thinking of getting a smaller incubator for 7-10 eggs, as in the LG after first attempt decided wasn't gonna fill it again and have been doing smaller hatches. I am not a builder type person as dad told me no touching the tools after took moms carpet shampooer apart and fixed it but then couldn't get it back together or tell him how I got it apart lol.

was interesting yesterday we have 9 hens laying and had gathered eggs last night just as they were perching for the night and when went out to gather there were 12 eggs in there
So what's wrong with having parts left over after reassembling something? Happens all the time. Obviously, they wern't needed & can be re-purposed elsewhere.

DID I MISS ALL THE CANDLING FUNS???

WE ARE INCUBATING DIRECTLY OFF'N THE CANDLER NOW RIGHT?

Funny you should ask. I was thinking about all those high-powered flashlights being used to candle eggs, and began to wonder about the heat those lights are generating. I suppose one could incubate with a powerful flashlight... just have to keep moving the light around the egg so it doesn't cook in one spot. Just a random thought...
