I'm hoping that he does, as he is starting to crow and it sounds terrible

so hopefully some "mature" girls will get his juices flowing and everybody will live in peace

And all I can rely on is your experience to gain my own experience (or something along those lines)

So throw the newbies in the coop after the older girls go to bed?
Don't follow me; I'm lost more times than not!

Besides all that, my experience, such as it is, wouldn't fill a thimble compared to half the other folks on here. Just 'cause I've had chickens longer than some others don't necessarily mean I'm doing it right; I had no help along the way until I found BYC and threads such as this, populated with a mix of those who knew what they were doing and those who didn't. All I've done is try to adapt different ideas that sound right for my circumstances, throw as much redneck common sense into the mix as I could muster, and go with it. Geesh; I didn't even know the difference between RIR's& RSL's 'til a year ago this coming Spring

Pretty much, the extent of my knowledge is that feed goes in one end; poop & eggs come out the other. However, I'm like everyone else in that I'm learning, through osmosis if nothing else, just as we all are, and occasionally manage to get some of it right...even a blind squirrel can find a nut, once in a while. In the end, I can only hope that if I don't know the answer I can find someone who does.

Quote: the hatching list I posted lol

Ive got 1 pip so far day 20.
yay!! me tooo!!!

@ChickenCanoe , I don't hate you for saying that, and I understand... The three made it out on their own, but the other five will probably die. Got one out and it looks like a perfect candidate for a yolk sac infection, and I think at least two of the others haven't absorbed their yolks. Truthfully, it would be easier to cull them, but for some reason I have a hard time doing it.

Hi all, hope everyone is having a good day.

@Sally Sunshine my update; 1 silkie out, 1 malpos, 2 taking their sweet time. Set 12 more Saturday.

Thinking about taking my lg still air out of the mix and drop a fan in it.

Bunsen the gold laced orp seems to be uninterested in mating. Hopefully the warmer weather this week will encourage him to get busy.

applebutter14 everyone here can help you out. Just post and they will help.
Hi loulylove!!

miss you!! @applebutter14 of course you need help or whatever just post away!

I promise that if you see someone signing (ASL) in a car, they are probably more aware of what is around them then a normal driver.

Since I do talk to her also, I usually only sign when it requires 1 hand. 2 handed signs are only used when we are stopped.

gotcha updated

@Fire Ant Farm

Fire Ant yes I have made pens in the past. Mine are the regular ball point ink. Fountain pens would take different bits and kits but I'm sure they are out there. I used to sell them to support my habit of not being able to stay out of Woodcrafters. Fun store. Antlers do turn an outstanding pen. Just not to keen on the smell of bone.
finished at wallyworld?

Look at this yummy goodness. I only do this for them a couple times a week and they love it.

Ms@SALLY SUNSHINE the humidity is 46% idk why
IDK WHY either son, perhaps its rainy wet or humid outside and now in the house? perhaps mom is boiling water on the stove?

O,I wanted to say.people say not to wash eggs right.well I would say wrong.the last hatch that I had three dozen and 0 hatched out of all of them none where washed.but the hatch before that I had 75% hatch all of them where washed
CH your last hatch was faulty thermometer, had nothing to do with the eggs!

Shalom to all of you!

I need some explantion about this TAGING stuff.
What for to do it?
How to do it?
Whay to do it?
HOW to keep typing after you @ someone! see: post #1088

we get email notifications when we are tagged so we can go into a thread and see what people need help with or wanted us to hear.

you do this @Akrnaf2 and then click on the blue name pop up, and then it turns your typed name blue and that person will get a notification in their email they signed up to BYC with. NOT BYC email. But you must set your settings so that you receive tag notifications

Move all eggs out of the turners! Separated types with my daughters legos. I hope the heat distributes evenly! Lock Down is happening now

The dishwasher cage used to put small items like pacifiers in make great mini cages to keep separate different eggs during hatching.
