Noticed one of my girls favoring one leg a bit yesterday; not bad, just noticeable. Have to keep an eye on her; make sure she can keep getting around alright. Not a lot I can do about it; can't catch her without a net, which would probably make it worse. They all gather ;round me whenever I walk out the door, but picking one up is an altogether different proposition.

:hugs cc you were up very early! morning

YAYYYAYYAYA!!!!! well done!!  how close will those bulbs be to the eggs?

Good morning everyone! :frow

Sally, I certainly wasn't awake at that hour by choice! :hugs

Major migraine hit about dinner time last night, meds knocked me out quickly but not for long. Tried everything I have in the past to resolve it, but no dice.
Took more meds, and figured I would play catch up at 2am, until they kicked in.
Feeling better now, if I could just shake the aura from the migraine, and the hangover from the meds. Gonna be a long, slow day with the curtains closed. :sick

I know that all to well, the hens at least tolerate getting handled better than the roosters, easier to put some fermented feed in a cat carrier or cage to catch mine

My birds are the same way. Gotta use two people or try to corner them to pick it up.

Good morning everyone!

Nothing to look at but snow, snow, & more snow anyway. 'Course you could look out another window & look at some different snow.
I've never had migraines, but I hear they can be nasty. I hope you get some relief soon; no fun being incapacitated,

I just wait until after they roost at night. Easier to do medical evaluations. They aren't as stressed since they haven't been chased around. And they are more compliant

Whites is correct. You will not get sex linked chicks from your sex link hens. Sex links are a one time deal. Different then autosexing breeds.

If you want RSL, RIR roo over a RIW or Delawares hens.

If you want BSL, RIR red roo over barred rock hens.

I figured that's how it worked.

Also totally unrelated, but I wanted to share the cookbook my best friend got me for Christmas.
