Care to share???

No. head spots mean nothing with barred rocks. They all have head spots. You can read article after article on trying to sex them by how dark the head spot is, leg coloring etc. It's all a guess until they get older and the feather color starts to come out.
I agree. I wait until they're 2-4 weeks old before beginning to try to determine sex.

Usually around 2 to 3 weeks old once they start feathering you can see whats what. The cockerels will be whiter than the pullets. Because the cockerels actually have 2 bands of white were the pullets only have 1. Which make the pullets look darker. you can see the difference with my pullets and the cockerel.

Mine have always been my own eggs. I also keep my humidity about 3-5 percent above what you normally do for chickens it works really well for me
My first batch I did at about 45-55% humidity, none lost enough weigh, and all died in the last week. This last time I did ~30% and hatched 47%.

I'm trying to keep mine around 30% this time. They're in my Janoel, and while I've had great hatch rates out of it with other eggs, the digital humidity read out is all over the place. I'm just adding very little water to it and watching my air cells.

Except for hatchery stock. Theres not much difference in the leg color. Its how they breed them.
These BR chicks are exactly 3 weeks old. The shading difference is easily to spot... but you can easily tell the difference at 2 weeks old...
