WELL done

And this is why I am wondering how the machine would actually work tilted just a few degrees so that all eggs in the same direction had a pointed end tilt as well as turning horizontal???
Do you mean putting the R-Com on an angle? Hmmmm...

You know, one thing I never checked (should have) is whether it turned them the same DIRECTION each and every time. I read that one should change the direction rolled when turning horizontally (e.g., not always rolling tot he right). I want to say that the consequence was malposition, but I cannot recall at the moment where I read it.

A question: Why do we incubate uncompromised eggs vertically when hens incubate horizontally?
I suspect they're not exactly horizontal under the hen...

In looking at these two weak male chicks in the incubator, including the last one I assisted (who cannot get his legs/feet under himself at all), I suspect I will be culling them in the morning. It would be the most humane thing to do, but I'm not looking forward to it...

And on that note - good night, all. Thanks for "being here" for me during my first hatch. Heaven knows no one else could possibly understand the past 24 hours of my life...
