Been hovering over my bator impatiently watching. The poults are due today but no pips yet. They were also in the bator when I had that big, 4 hour temp drop so they're bound to be late. Just wish at least one would hatch today. I have an order to fill tomorrow and I just need 1 more lol
Retired postal carrier here. I have to say I loved my customers! I was on the same route for 15 years and some were like family, I, along with most of my co-workers went above and beyond our duties. I know a lot goes on now, more so than even a few years ago, but there are still a lot of great carriers and clerks out there. It upsets me to no end to see bad employees trashing what used to be a great company
Our first postman was awesome, chatty, consistent, careful. Started bringing treats after we got a puppy, became buds with her. Our replacement sucks, he set packages right in the middle of the steps where everyone could see them(there is a package theft problem in Spokane). He would just toss letters on our porch instead of putting them in the mail box, our chickens come on our porch often so you can guess how messy that is sometimes. He even told my husband that he (the mailman) can't read. I was like *** how are you still employed. We even saw him smoking in the mail truck.... We've complained and service is better but seriously, I wish he would find a diff. line of work.
Well, this weekend will be a time of good and bad things. The good is the arrival of my fancy eggs which we will get today. They are cream legbars some Rees and some her line, Easter Eggers (light green eggs) some are Aracuana rir and some are clb naked necks, sapphires (clb over Leghorn for large sky blue eggs), and Swedish flower hens.
And sorrow as I sell off my flock half of which is spoken for. It was a very hard decision, but I want to raise birds so I am going to sell them all, clean, and start without ms.
Several will be sorely missed especially Georgie
Well we are 17 hours in from first pip. It knocked big chunk of shell off so I have a great view to see movement inside and the little pipper is still shakin so here we wait. I think my DH is as excited as me cuz he just called to check in from work.
