Even though I saw poopy butts this weekb was planning to worm in March to give the weak some time to recover and get Tylan in the three I started on it yesterday. Do you think they can handle both because I found this on an otherwise normal poop board this morning. another good reason to use poop boards.

Looks like roundworms, & a pretty heavy load of them for a single bird. Kathy's probably the best one to give you an answer, though. @casportpony

I've only ever seen one or two in poultry poop, or huge amounts like that in necropsy pictures. Not sure what I would do if I found a pile like that in my coop. I'd worm, just don't know if I'd use Safeguard or pyrantel pamoate... and I would worm knowing that worming might actually kill the bird. Would probably also give fluids either orally or subcutaneously if it were one of my beloved peafowl or turkeys. -Kathy

Well, all the pieces of the puzzle finally fell into place. The weather became fairly pleasant, I finished the new pen (close enough for now), and moved the fifteen 10 week olds into it. I'm so glad to finally get them out of the 4'x4' brooder, which is now occupied by the five 6 week olds. The chicks seemed to be enjoying the new pen, but were a little confused when the sun went down. They kept climbing the ramp, but wouldn't dare go inside. I picked them up one-by-one and put them inside. I think after a night or two they'll figure it out. Here they are exploring their new home...

The poop page, that chat allotment one, is flawed... IMO, foamy poops are never normal. Could be worms, coccidia or something else. Do you know which one did it?

Not a clue. I am guessing my 12 younger chickens. They are about 16 weeks old. I just now got them adjusted to no heat about 3 weeks ago..... I know, I know, these are spoiled and it is North Dakota winters... The coop is still heated to about 45-50 degrees with only two lights.

Not when I have my bodyguard with me!

Not missing much... just a bunch of scraggly BR's. Could be a problem with moisture in a connection, or if there was enough snow built up on it, the dish may need re-aligning. Just a couple of theories...

how much safeguard? It is one of the ms birds so sell or die it is leaving. I was told to worm twice a year and could start in the spring since they were all young this last fall. Anyone who sees this no how wrong that advice was.
