Oh, I've had several a lot smaller than that. When my last flock was just starting to lay I got several that, except for being brown, could have passed for robin eggs.

These babies are growing like weeds! I plan on setting more for the Easter HAL. I think I will be focusing on higher production birds this time. I really like the looks of the BBS barred rock, sure hope it is a girl!

I didn't weight them to start. All the air cells are about the same size but I don't have anything to compare them to to know if they are the right size for day 7. I have 3 thermos in there and no water. Not sure how to lower humidity if there isn't any water in there to start with! I was trying to do dry hatch but it is what it is at this point. I was unable to find any other hydrometers that would fit in there so I'm just using the un calibrated one on the machine. The therm. on machine seems surprisingly very accurate... Hoping the hydrometer is too. Thanks for your help! I flipped the upside down egg.

The bator is all cleaned out and waiting for the next batch. For shipped eggs, should I ask for them to be shipped on Monday the 29th for setting on Saturday the 5th? It takes 2 to 3 days for the eggs to get to my place....just worried if I ask for wednesday, they may be held up by the good ole USPS

Yep, got a few days to see how it settles and go from there. I think I found a good spot. Right under my Tortoise mansion. I think it should be fairly stable there.
