Cute! Peafowl breeders see this quite often in peachicks that are incubated in incubators and they say it can be fixed if the feet are taped within the first few days. I have one that I tried to correct at about day 5-7, but I was too late.

Since it doesn't seem to affect him and probably can't be fixed I have to plans on causing him discomfort.

I have a five year old peacock with a toe like that and he had no problems covering his six hens last season. :D

Good morning everyone! At page 5800 and trying to catch up.

Did a necropsy on a thin hen and was quite surprised by what I found. Will start a thread about that, and of course there will be pictures. :D Also removed som very nasty stuff from the repro tract of a hen that was looking egg bound.

thread title?

Haven't started the threads yet, but when I do, I'll post the links to them here.

Well, update on the eggs, stuffed as many as I could into the brinsea mini, three didn't fit so I'm cracking the lid and trying my best to manage temp until the spouse gets home. Dag nabbit!

Two have hatched so far with two well on the way. One seems quite weak but the other is drying up, stomping around the incubator like a little dinosaur.

Congrats!!!

My latest acquisition, Tucker; the friendliest, tamest rooster I've ever been around, let alone owned. Can't thank Jess enough for making him available @Auroradream26
nice!!

@billiejw89 How's your first hatch coming?
Hello everybody!
Update- Today is a mix with my chickens. On a good note, I have ordered a bunch of chicks from Hoover Hatchery in IA that is NPIP and certified mycoplasma free. They will arrive the first week in March hopefully the eggs that are due that week Rees CLB, Swedish flower hens, and EE survived the required dipping, and hatch that week. We are setting Ameruacana and blue black splash English Orpingtons tonight. Sapphires to come along with LO when found.

On a sadder note my favorite hen Georgie, and my two roos go to be put down. For Georgie it is hard, but a mercy since she is still sick, the two roosters it is just sad. Here is a goodbye

So sorry for your birds.
There comes a time and it is best for us to do what has to be done, instead of them sufferin. :hugs

@Sally Sunshine should I just unplug the fan since it's not really doing anything anyway?

no, but you have plenty of ventilation in it?

dont unplug it, if you can avoid it, perhaps you can fold a pc of cardboard and block the eggs in a way? if its not that powerful it should be ok? your call you can feel what its giving them.
