I have started collecting my duck eggs for hatching and I cracked open a couple to see if they were even getting fertilized and one had blood in it. Does anyone know what this means?

Just a little bit of blood? Sometimes it just comes through with the whites and yolk, Its from the rupture of a blood vessel as the yolk and whites are forming. Completely fertile and edible, you can pull the blood out if you'd like, which is what most people do.

This is the EE I got to keep the serama company until the bantams get here. She is like a big baby (compared to the serama)
Kermit

Is that from TJChickens?
"The Frog" ain't got a thing on us...we got Kermit!

Ok thanks I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something that would affect them hatching if there were more like the one I cracked open.
