I've read on here that Silkies are "born broody". That's not so, of course, but it gives you an indication of just how they "hang in there"
This may not be relevant, but the only broody hen I've had so far is one of my RSL's. She started in June and never quit 'til September.
I had one of my EE's go broody last year. We gave her some eggs, but she ended up kicking them out of her box, and the sitting on them in the dirt and doing other weird stuff. Nothing hatched. I've heard silkies are known for going broody. I'm hoping this one has better luck than the EE..

My hen, Sheryl Crow, is missing.
I hope you find her! Do you lock up your chickens at night?
