Thought i would share a pic of the little chickie that just hatched yesterday

My next one will be more complex. It's all good. My bator was just a science project for me and the boys to do... Then I got hooked.
build one from scratch that'll give your boys some real hands on experience. I've had a great time doing this so far. And yes finishing it is basically all I think about. Well, and food...OK OK and my chickens....oh and there's my kid. ;)

Yes.
She was in a nest box when I went out. I can't be 100% about why she wasn't in the coop. I hate to think of where she could have been. It may have been the storage area, it may have been in the lilac bush. Or... She may have decided that that the neighbor has become worthy of her begging for treats. I doubt that since even the neighbor's chickens don't like her much. But, if Sheryl went too close to the neighbor, the neighbor could have taken her. If that is what happened, her mother must have made her let Sheryl go.
I am so glad you found her. They are amazing escape artists I think.

Hey guys! How's everyone been? I've been so crazy busy it's insane, and my last batch of chicks still hasn't been moved to outdoor quarters and I have more hatching this weekend and my chick order is coming through too aaaahhhh!!!! I guess you can have too many chicks!! Hopefully we can move them this week.

I just moved the 8 biggest babies out to pen. Still have a few inside, but hopefully we'll get the outside pen set up with electricity and a better heating system! Good luck getting control of all the chicks and you are right - you can never have too many!!

My broody has babies this morning, well at least one. One little poked out for a few seconds before mama tucked him back under her

I'll be stalking her with my camera now, have a good day everyone!
Congratulations! Good luck getting some photos!! I can't wait to see them!

And that is why I just poke holes in styrofoam
So far my styrofoam have been the most successful, the plastic one seems to be a death bator!

I'm up to 8 poults so far and still hatching. They're late and taking their time hatching but they're hatching!
Yeah!! Go chickies go!!!
