Come on over. We don't quit until dark or after. Plenty to keep ya busy.
Bull castrating, calf pulling, fence building, coyote shooting...more fun than any one man has a right to.

@Sally Sunshine you are correct. Out of all the pistols I own, I carry this Springfield 4" XD45 90% of the time. No matter what pistol or caliber I carry, they are loaded with Hornady Critical Defense rounds. And always hot chambered ready to rock it.
Do you travel dangerous places?
I keep one loaded at home but I don't carry most places. I never even consider it. I have a 12 gauge and a pistol loaded on the back porch but everything else is put away.
I'm located between urban and rural. I'm just a long walk or a short drive from Ferguson, MO.
I feel very secure round these parts.

The only times I've had any confrontation that involved firearms in 65 years were both when I worked at a 24 hour service station over 45 years ago. Those were crazy white guys showing off.
We did fear for our lives at the time.

Didn't know he had a new one. The other one kaput?
The new one I'm referring to is the one you are familiar with.
This is the original I was following a few years ago.

Ya'll are welcome to help build fences here.
Haven't castrated bulls or pigs in about 50 years.

@Sally Sunshine , I think you wanted pictures of infertile eggs? Here is a pea egg after being in the incubator for 7 days.

Blurb!???!!?? PLEASE explain. :rant

Oh... Good morning to you too! :hugs
No, not CL! Try and avoid that if you can! Try and find a no kill shelter (if he is very adoptable, other than the chicken problem) that has foster homes, and surrender him there. Is he friendly to humans? Good with cats? Good with kids?

There is a no kill shelter just down the road form us. And yes, he is good with cats, and kids. But, he pees a little when he gets excited

. We are still trying to figure out what to do. He has been a very good dog for us until this started. He is a very good snake dog (and we need one where I live) we think that we want to keep him through the summer so he can teach our new puppy how to looks for snakes.

I now have TWO silkies that have gone broody (first time for both of them). My blue hen is sitting on 6 eggs (I think), and the white hen is just sitting on 2. Should I add more under her? IF they hatch their babies (about 5 days apart), how old do the chicks have to be before they can be re-introduced to the rest of the flock? I tried to put my 2 month old babies in the run, and the rooster attacked. The hens wanted to protect them, but the roo was angry. Will it be different for eggs hatched in the coop?

Quote:
how long she on them? you marked the eggs?
I personally have not touched the eggs other than feeling underneath each hen once. It took the blue a little while to find the ones she wanted to keep, and to figure things out. She first kicked out a few - we got rid of those) then she kicked out all the eggs, but immediately sat on them in the dirt. We put them back in her box and she hopped in and sat on them again. The next day, my mom swapped them out for new eggs, since she wasn't sure if the others would have survived. That was 7 days ago and she has been really good with them since. The white hen went broody 2 days ago, there are only 2 eggs underneath her. I didn't mark any of the eggs. Should I?

Can I slip more eggs under the hen with the eggs she's been on for 2 days?
