Ok, thanks everyone. I guess I'll bank on them only taking 28 days then. Encouraging to learn that muscovy mixes do not produce offspring. That narrows it down for me. I know the eggs are viable because I've candled them, and some of them are coming from the mother duck of the ones pictured.
Whew. I did not want duck eggs taking up my incubator for 35+ days.

Guh, really didn't want to do anything with the birds beyond feed them but forced myself to go and clean the coop out. Also painted the nesting boxes bright red, bought new bedding (which smells oddly like mango), and bathed one of the birds because she's too curious for her own good and got red paint on herself.

THE EGGS ARE SET!!!
11 OEGB mutts IN right now. :celebrate

Well it was time to lockdown most of the chicken eggs tonight. Candled and the Nieders were a no-go (clear). All but two of the Twenste are either clear or scrambled. One is ready but the other looks like it is lagging 3 or 4 days behind so it will stay on the rack for a bit. I have two Orust that look finished and ready and one that is lagging but still has veins. And I have one Sapphire egg and two browns.. The silver cots have all drawn down but two so I am hoping to see some action from them tomorrow. I am making a PVC ring rack to fit in the rocker trays. That way I can get 100 quail in the rocker. I also checked out an ad on Crags list about an older Sportman incubator. The man would like $200 or trade for livestock. I sent an email and asked him how he felt about sheep ourt of dairy lines. He said he was interested so we are talking and I may have me a Sportsman soon.
I cant wait to see the new quail tray!

So far I had three new baby Americuana chicks.one buff, one white, and one black hatch yesterday. And two are half out .today is day 21.

yes,u won't.u should lock them down day 25.and if they haven't hatched by day 30.then do an egg autopsy.Yes,I have had a muscovy female since she was a baby.never had a muscovy drake.I had a mallard drake three peeking drakes,an she never could have baby's of her own.she has always been with chickens.now I just got me a drake and another hen, muscovy.finely YAY.well instead of insisting on breeding with the muscovy Drake she insist on breeding with my black Australorp rooster are my Roman tufted gander.but, hopefully she will take to the muscovy drake soon.so she can have some baby's of her on and not hatch others.
