Emu update:
I decided to go ahead and weigh the emu eggs daily. Its a good thing too, because 3 of them were loosing weight too fast at 35% humidity. Between yesterday and today, this is what they lost-
CE- 630g, -2g (should be about 1.69g).
CH- 683g, -2g (should be about 1.83, not too bad).
CI- 661, -5g (should be about 1.78, not sure what happened there, see below).
CQ- 597, -1g (should be about 1.60).

I upped the humidity to 40% and I'll weight them again tomorrow to see where that puts me. Egg CI seems to have bigger pores then the others, so I might have to figure out a way to close some of them up to stop the rapid moisture loss. We'll see!
interesting!!! thank you, you are tracking all this on paper ?

So my egg that pipped at the wrong end didn't make it. But I have 3 that have hatched out of 26. It's my first time, so I am happy that even that many made it.
I am going to get some more eggs. When is the next hatch along?
what do you think went wrong?
The easter hal you can set for and then the April HAL

Sally - you are so fast! I just set eggs and tried to find the right place to update the set number of eggs on the Easter Hatch-a-long to see my number already there. Thank you!

I put a SLEW of eggs on the 24 hr auction thread if anybody wants any....

I feel bad for those that need more room in their incubators. I have one that holds 41 with the turner, and the other holds... IDK. About that. The one I just bought hasn't even been used yet.

I probably shouldn't admit to that stuff on here.

Ok I've driven myself crazy trying to calibrate thermometers and confirm what the temp of the 1588 is...3 out of 4 thermometers say 100 on the nose!

So my best bet is to turn the incubator down to 99.5-99.6, right? I only put a bit of water in the first reservoir because without water, humidity was about 10%,..humidity is currently at 41%...& we'd like to set the eggs tonight!
