Be concise.I'm going to call the hatchery. Any advice on approaching this? I think the 15 of 19 that died in the first 24 hours at least should be on them. I tend to be too blunt![]()
hmmm cheese huh. Now I'm curious. I'm gonna have to do a little research, I love making things at home. Currently have several gallons of heavy cream to convert to butter.Alas, cheesemaking is a great big exercise in patience because it has to age first - for cheddar, minimum of 4 months (up to a year or two, at least for my home stuff). I'm actually making cheddar AND more Monterey Jack this week (ordered lots of milk). I've been making a wheel of Jack every month so far since New Years - it ages for about 2-4 months. It's good to make it now while there's so much great green grass for the cows to eat. Summer milk isn't quite the same...
If I didn't have so much to do I'd make gouda and baby swiss, but they're more involved, and there's a brining step... Another time.
(Whew! Glad you're not changing your name! That would be... WRONG...)

thanks..I don't have DD's near me, but when I go back east, I go there. I loved it up to the last time I had it (2 years). I DO have Starbucks on every corner and I HATE their coffee.
I've left infertile or early quitters in the 'bator for the full hatch and have never had an exploding one - would they be more likely to explode under a broody hen? Or, are we just being careful because it's harder to clean a chicken than it is an incubator?
But, I WILL CANDLE THEM!! Promise!!!!!
I hope you feel better soon, same with Duckling!! LOL about your keys - I am glad you found them!
Adorable fluffy chickies!!! Congratulations on a successful hatch!
I have learned a lot to for next time..thanks..
sounds mixed. If you put a ccl roo over those Leghorns you will get Sapphires. They lay lots of large sky blue eggs! That is what I bought that started my nightmare, but I WANT one!!!I know I had something to say on this, but I forgot....
No idea!!
Good luck....
Oh, I need help.. CHICK season is here!!!![]()

I heard a report several years ago that said the average teacher only lasts 2 years. No wonder, considering all the BS they have to put up with. My DIL & niece are both teachers; have been for many years, & love itMaybe, one of the ladies I taught with my first year as a teacher said I was the bluntest person she had ever met. I asked if that was a compliment or an insult?
A few years of teaching and I went back to driving. I don't fit the current system/mentality.
If it helps write everything down before you call them. That way you will have the info right in front of and won't have to try and think of it on the spot.Maybe, one of the ladies I taught with my first year as a teacher said I was the bluntest person she had ever met.
