Picked up here 'bout as much as it's going to; 5 layers = 5 eggs most days for the last couple weeks. I'll get 4, maybe once a week, and 3 once in a while, but it's averaging 4+; hard to complain about that.
That's about all one can ask of 5 birds. I know it does them good to miss a day every now and then...

Gotta run!!!

Thank you! Indid the word that I was looking for was : love!
As you probably know by now, I love very much, to preper, share and eat the best food availbel but mor I love hanging with my familly and friends, so when I can combine the two it is amazing!
And believe me that with me you don't have to worry about spelling problems! I invented the the notion of "spelling mistakes"
Flat bred recpie:
1 kg of white spelled flour , 25 grams of salt , 30 grams of dry yeast , 250-300 ml of water . Add the salt to the flour and stir , add the yeast and stir , add the water gradually and knead until dough is elastic. If too dry and hard ,add more water and knead again . If the dough is sticky add more flour and knead again . Let dough rise in a bowl covered with a plastic bag until the dough doubles in volume . Then cut away pieces roll between hands and spread the pieces to 1-1,5 centimeter thick and then put on the hot saadg. Waiting until bubbles appear and flip,

Too bad you are oversea's, you sound like my kinds of people. We would be sharing plenty of meals. :hugs thanks for the recipe on the flatbread.

FOOD IS LOVE

I am seeing a slow pick up - unfortunately my new chicken coop has created shade on the old. The runs are all underneath trees. So, there is more shade than we used to have, which is GREAT during the 100+ degree days, but seems like it's not so great at getting the laying to improve.. I have 14 laying, and we are getting just 5 - 8 per day. I'm going to rethink the chicken runs, and get them some sunny sections!

Howdy Sir Ur. I'm hoping production picks up for my 6 layers as well.

This is the big advantage of the hybrid breeds! Excellent layers!

My marans chick that hatched this morning came from a blue copper marans over a black and gray americauna. It is brown and has down on its middle toe. Wasn't expecting that.

Just popping in to say hello... HELLO!!! :frow I only have 6 laying-age hens (so far), and have only been getting 2 or 3 eggs daily for almost 2 months. I came home for lunch (as always), and was pleasantly pleased when I went out to collect eggs. Today there we 5. :yesss: I hope production is about to pick up again... :fl
Glad production is picking up for you. Mine picked up almost a month ago and I'm getting 3 on most days with the occasional 1-2 egg days. Couldn't ask for much more out of 3 hens. Have 14 chicks that are about 1 1/2 mos. old. Plan to keep the hens out of those and eventually be up to around a dozen for layers.

Most of mine are just now coming off of molt, so it may be sporadic for a little while... but it's progress. It's no fun feeding them and getting nothing in return. I hope yours will pick up soon, too.

Well, it's time to head back to work. Catch y'all later!!!

Mine are all youngsters that came into lay at a bad time last year.

I agree with you on that have barnyard mutts from our hatch. We have seven 10 month olds, seven 2-year-olds and three 3-year-olds. We are getting 11-14 eggs a day, vast improvement from earlier this winter, we were getting two a day, both from our EE's. Definitely feeling more and more like spring here in Colorado, grass is starting to green. We still have to make it through March one of our snowiest months.

Slow as molasses running uphill on a cold day in here today. Tonight, when I won't be here 'til 9:30 or so, it'll be jumpin'. I never will get caught up before most everyone's gone off to bed.
