This might be one of the fires whites wanted you to put out. I'm a newbie that so far has decided to do more of a hands off approach so I'm not much help but enjoy the knowledge shared of others.

I have a local teacher that actually runs the incubator in each classroom of the elementary school every year! He has farmers on the list for chicks as well as letting kids take them home if they already have backyard chickens. I give him eggs occasionally, a very good guy and very addicted to sharing his love of incubation and it benefits the kids BIG TIME!!

There are slides and programs for incubating eggs with kids in the classroom, I bet you already found them?

Hi Sally, I think I have my daughter's teacher interested in setting up an incubator with her class. Where would I find the slides or the programs for classroom teaching?

Good morning everyone! I was going to go home tonight to candle all my day 7 eggs (plus the broody eggs), but my route home takes me right past the Ronald Reagan library. Nancy Reagan's funeral is today and public viewing is available from 1 to 7 pm. Traffic is going to be a NIGHTMARE. Tomorrow it's only until 2 pm, so it shouldn't be as bad. So, I think I'll be candling on day 8.

That is rude Chaos. Chickenhawk is switching from a incubator with a fan to a hatcher without one and wants to be sure of the temperatures since it is different and since Sally Sunshine has recommended a temperature reduction at lockdown in general. So she has 2 issues to concider and it can be confusing. 1. Temperature of the still air are higher than the forced air (fan). But 2. You are going to reduce the temp during lockdown. So just how much should that be with both things going on?

I don't know the answer and I don't remember that particular question being answered in what I have read of Sally's so far. I just may have not got to it yet.

STOP turning and the incubator stays closed, for the next three days while the chicks hatch!  If you’re having a hard time with humidity it is OK to open quickly to boost, add warm water or increase the size of the pan or add a wet sponge. [COLOR=FF0000]NEVER ADJUST HUMIDITY BY cutting back airflow.[/COLOR] VENTILATION is EXTREMELY important at this stage!​

Researchers have found that lowering temperatures will prolong incubation,​
