I went to gather eggs to find my 11 month old production red had passed away. She was fine yesterday. I am sad. It looks like she passed mid dust bathing.

I also had one of my SiAm eggs turn blood ring. Sad face... I still have 3 left. I hope they make it.

Aw poor girl maybe she had a heart attack or stroke or something things like that can happen to chickens all the time but I have my two baby chicks that are a couple days old sleeping in bed with me on my stomach all cuddled up with each other they are so cute

Are ur temps correct is ur meter correct u never know my incubator jumps up a few temps every once in a great while and goes back down to its normal temp it only does it like once every hatch

I,fills all the troughs,have two sponges and a small dish.and humidity is now 59%

Did you add warm or cold water? If the water wasn't steaming when you put it in you will need to give it time to warm up , otherwise add more sponges and rags that are soaked. There isn't much to do besides that.

Maybe, I know that's a side effect of breeding for production.

Of my 24 eggs I set only 6 are fertile and showing development. 18 are clear!
They all arrived well packaged on next day delivery so we're not in the post in too long. Only 1 maybe 2 had slightly saddle air cells and I mean slight.

Day seven candling has been a total let down Only 4 of the Columbian black tails and 2 of the pekin are developing. The rest are clear including all 6 orpingtons.

Before I send an email to the breeder I would appreciate your thoughts if you think this is a fertility issue. I'm sure it has to be as the eggs were in good shape.

I would express your concern just like you did us.. Stating you believe it to be a fertility issue because of these reasons... My heart is broken for you and I think you need reconciliation.. I saw the pictures... I know what you did to get them ready and it was all the recommended things to do.

I'm quite the newbie but do you see any air cells on the assumed clear eggs? If so, what is their shape?

I was discussing my candling issues earlier and another member mentioned that she thought her recent batch was developing very poorly (or possibly not at all) and she actually ended up having a really high hatch rate!

Based off of that and what others have said, maybe let them hang in there and see how things are going by day 10? If there's any changes at that point?
If they continue to be clear, it very well could be a fertility issue. Did the breeder guarantee a fertility percentage at all? Obviously they cannot guarantee hatch rate but just curious.

If they remain clear, I'd definitely contact the breeder and inform them of what's happened. (Maybe some candling pictures would be helpful to add as well)

How easy are the eggs to see into? If you are 100% sure they are clear you can do an eggtopsie to look for the bulls eye and see if the eggs were fertile to begin with. See the white dot near the top of the broken egg shell. This is my egg after 7 days incubation, it's not fertile.

Does anybody have a Small thermometer/Hydrometer That will Fit in a brinsea Mini? My thermometer was a disappointment, And As much as I love the Brinsea Mini, It doesn't have a lot of room for thermometers

No air cell development on the clears and the eggs are easy to see into. Not dark eggs and I have a good candler ~

Looking at the developing embryos I'm 99% sure the others are clear not even blood rings. So nothing has even made an attempt to grow.

I've left them in just incase and will re check day 10 but I'm not really not holding my breath :/

That sucks! I would definently check for fertility too. It can be done at day 7, and if you have proof they aren't fertile, you can definitely tell the breeder.
