If you're worried you could try to assist. But read the assist info on page one first.
Personally, I would wrap it in a warm wet paper towel and pop it back in the bator for a while and see if it progresses any more in the next hour before assisting any further.
Keep the towel away from the pip area, but wrap the eggs sufficiently to provide humidity.
I don't like assisting unless I am sure there is a major problem (malpo, shrink wrap, etc.)
But I have used the towel trick many times, and in a short while they do it on their own.
You have to make the judgement if it needs an assist, you have the best information on the egg and chick condition.

Morning...migraine remedies, anyone?? My regular meds are NOT cutting it...ugh.

I used to have to take excedrin tension headache in addition to my migraine pills but I started a new supplement and I haven't had a migraine in months.. Sorry to reply here, I tried sending a pm but it wouldn't let me. Hope you are feeling better.

Wow sounds interesting.

I love it. It is mentally and physically challenging. I use it as a workout, but it also helps me keep up my balance, flexibility, coordination,and it challenges me.

How's tucker doing with figuring out who the man is.

Got my first chickens just over 5 years ago, had my first run in with a spur this afternoon. "Shaggy" caught me off guard this afternoon as I was checking feed and water. I saw him coming but wasn't able to move in time after I realized his intentions. Initially didn't think anything of him coming at me like that because the hens and him both will follow me around all over the yard and if they get more than 30-40 foot away they will charge but then stop right at my feet. I'm not typically the type to treat violence with violence but when he tried for a 2nd attempt with me facing him the only defense I could think of was to put my boot up and give him a steel toe to the chest. Some may look at that as cruel but he broke skin on my calf and gave me about a quarter sized bruise, through blue jeans, the first time so I wasn't taking any chances for the second time. He calmed back down after that and went in the run and called his girls like nothing ever happened. All are tucked in and roosting now. He's my only rooster and I'm enjoying being able to hatch my own eggs but if he tries that crap again he's done. Any thoughts or advice. He's around a year old and is typically calm as can be. Sorry for the long post.

Got caught up and heading to bed. Back up and going in about 5 hrs. See yall in the morning.

About the racoon problem why don't you trap them? I do live in the country but if racoons are getting your chickens we are allowed to shoot them. Call your state game warden and ask what to do.

Unfortunately, he came up from behind me again a few days ago, running into the back of my leg. We were all in the run at the same time; he, the 5 hens, & I. I guess I got between him & his girls. He got another boot to the chest. He's yet to spur me; so far, he's only run into me. This is the 1st time he's ever had hens of his own. Since our last run-in, he's only taken corn from my hand once. When I open the coop in the morning he's the last one out. If I'm standing too close, he won't come out at all 'til I back off a bit.

I guess when he got his own ladies, he came into his own & quit being the friendly "pet" he was to start with. He usually gives me a wide berth now. Won't even stand still to be picked up. He normally gives me no problem, as long as I keep an eye on him. It's kind of disappointing, really, but I guess roosters are like breeding stallions; they all bear watching.

Just like your Shaggy, Tucker's my only rooster. He's doing what I got him to do; if he chooses not to be friendly that's his problem. If he chooses to make it a serious problem, I guess we'll have to make a decision. I hope it doesn't come to that.
